Cassandra Bransford
Assistant Adjunct Professor

Cassandra Bransford, PhD, Assistant Adjunct Professor, earned her doctorate from CUSSW in 2004. She is currently an assistant professor in the School of Education and Human Development, Division of Social Work, at Binghamton University in upstate New York. She has over 20 years of practice experience, working with adults, adolescents, and children. She has trained extensively in psychodynamic treatment approaches and earned a certificate in psychoanalyis and psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in NYC in 1992. She is interested in relational and constructivist approaches to practice. Cassandra's publications include: "The evolution of mental health policy and the implications for social work practice," "Reflections of authority in psychotherapy: From Freud to feminism," "Human agency and the creation of normative influences within individuals and groups," "Organization theory and the utilization of authority in social work." Her research includes her current involvement in a pilot study to examine mental health seeking behaviors among a high-risk, urban, diabetic population.
