Fred Casale teaches Foundations of Social Work Practice, at the Columbia University School of Social Work. He received his MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work in 1997. He is presently ABD at the New York University Silver School Of Social Work, conducting his doctoral research in the area of infertility in couples, while developing and testing a psychometric instrument designed to measure the psychological construct of chronic sorrow. Mr. Casale has worked in various branches of social work including, academia, outpatient mental health, group supervision and administration.
Apart from his work at Columbia, Mr. Casale has taught a wide range of classes in the departments of Social Work, Psychology, Sociology and Urban Studies at Fordham University, New York University, Adelphi University and The City University of New York. His administrative work has included his current, ongoing position as Assistant Director of the Fordham University/HASA Training Academy, which includes the development and implementation of curriculum designed to train New York City-HRA case managers in relation to skills development, in working with people with HIV/AIDS.
Mr. Casale also retains a private practice, serving a diverse client population with office locations in both Manhattan and the Bronx.
