Paul Getsos has taught Community Organizing at the Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW) since 1997.

Mr. Getsos is Director and Lead Organizer of Community Voices Heard, a welfare-rights low-income people membership based organization based in New York City. He has over 12 years of community organizing, legislative and electoral experience. Paul is involved in national, state and local organizing campaigns, including TANF re-authorization and the 1996 welfare reform debate, statewide advocacy coalitions including labor and religious organizations, and local welfare and workfare organizing campaigns. He currently sits on the Steering Committee of NY Jobs with Justice, a labor community group, and the Organizing Support Center, which provides technical assistance to grass roots organizations in NYC. He has also sat on the North Star Fund Community Funding Board and Community Board 4.
