Andrew Hamid holds a MSW (Toronto), M.Mus (Royal Conservatory) and PhD in Social Work & Psychology (Michigan). He teaches primarily in the area of Substance Abuse and also in International Health & Social Development. He has served as Fulbright Scholar at Universidade de Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and at Charles University, Prague. He was also a Fulbright Visiting Professor at Istanbul Univertesi. Currently he serves as Senior Advisor to the World Health Organization's Bureau of International Drug Prevention.
