Dara Kerkorian
Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dr. Dara Kerkorian is teaching Social Work Practice with Children at the Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW). She completed her M.S. at CUSSW in 1992. The recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health pre-doctoral training grant, she completed her Ph.D. at CUSSW in 2003. Primary research interests have included child and adolescent mental health service utilization, the provision of mental health services to ethnic-minority and immigrant populations, research-practice partnerships, and the dissemination of research to practitioners.

Dr. Kerkorian has clinical experience in a variety of settings. She has worked with chronically ill children and their families at major academic medical centers and provided mental health services to children and adolescents with emotional or behavioral difficulties in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. Within these contexts she has had a special interest in developing programs for parents and partnerships with community organizations.
