Jane LaMonica
Adjunct Lecturer

Dr. Jane LaMonica teaches Clinical Case Evaluation at the Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW). Dr. LaMonica received a Ph.D. in Social Welfare and MSW from Fordham University.

Her previous experience includes teaching primarily in the research, human behavior, and practice areas. She has also taught several sections of a course entitled: "Social Justice; Practice with Organizations and Communities."

Dr. LaMonica's research focus has been in the area of workfare and psychological well-being of women; self-esteem and disability; and vocational evaluation which have resulted in paper presentations at several professional conferences including NASW New Jersey in March, 1998. Dr. LaMonica's practical experience is in adult mental health and child welfare. She has maintained a part time private practice since 1994 and has provided group therapy for individuals in day treatment. For the past two years Dr. LaMonica has been an administrator and researcher in child welfare. First as a director of reventive services and currently as a manager in the Office of Quality Improvement, Administration for Children's Services, completing research on casework and supervisory practices.
