Susan Oppenheim
Adjunct Professor

Dr. Oppenheim is responsible for developing placements and assigning students in the Health/Mental Health and Disabilities Field of Practice. She co-chairs, with faculty, an Advisory Committee that Field. She has overall responsibility for placing the students in the January Class. She is the coordinator for the schedule of workshops offered to Field Instructors. In addition to her administrative responsibilities she teaches in the Clinical Practice sequence and, with Professor Tazuko Shibusawa and the Center for New Media Technology and Learning, developed advanced clinical practice courses that use interactive digital based technology.

Dr. Oppenheim received her MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work and her DSW from Adelphi University. She completed an externship at The Ackerman Institute for the Family where she was trained to work with families and couples. In addition to her work at CUSSW she supervises at the NYU Child Study Center and has a private practice in Greenwich Village.
