Dr. Oppenheim is an Associate Director of Field Education with a specialization in Health/Mental Health and Disabilities.
Dr. Oppenheim received her MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work and her D.S.W from the Adelphi University School of Social Work. Prior to coming to the Columbia University School of Social Work, she was an outpatient therapist at South Beach Psychiatric Center, supervised in a prevention program and developed a student unit at Metropolitan Hospital. Her teaching experience includes masters and doctoral students at NYU and Hunter's schools of social work. She has certificates from the Hunter College School of Social Work Post Masters Program in Family Therapy and from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. In addition, she studied with Monica McGoldrick at the Westchester Family Institute and Dr. Jeffry Young of the New York Institute for Cognitive Therapy.
She currently teaches Social Work Practice with couples. She has previously taught Advanced Clinical Practice, Social Work Practice with Families and What do we bring to practice: Professional use of self. Dr. Oppenheim also supervises psychology interns and medical residents at the NYU Child Study Center and has a private practice.
