Dr. Steven Parker is The Executive Director of Rosalie Hall Inc. a child welfare agency that serves pregnant and parenting teens, living in a group residence, and in the community. He has taught HBSE, Social Policy, and Services for Children at the Columbia University School of Social Work.
In a career which has spanned over 40 years, Dr. Parker has been at Rosalie Hall for 25 years and has extensive experience working with pregnant and parenting teens. He developed a peer counseling program at Rosalie Hall that utilizes the skills of young parents in conducting workshops in public and private schools to prevent at risk behaviors. This program has had city wide recognition, and was one of the first of its kind.
Dr. Parker has a strong background in Child Welfare and the Foster Care system. Although in an administrative position, Dr. Parker also has extensive clinical experience in working with adolescents and young adults. He has been active in advocating for this population for over 25 years. Since he has been in this area for a number of years, Dr. Parker has been able to track many young parents into adulthood as well as watch their children grow.
A lifetime New Yorker Dr. Parker received his Bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, a MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work, and a DSW from Wurzweiler School Of Social Work/ Yeshiva University.
