Arthur Perahia teaches Family and Children's Services at the Columbia University School of Social Work.  Mr. Perahia received his MSW from Fordham University in 1977 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Mr. Perahia works at the Juvenile Rights Practice of The Legal Aid Society where he has held a variety of administrative and supervisory positions.  Currently, he is the Social Work Supervisor of JRP's Queens office.  Mr. Perahia has worked with children, adolescents and their families on a wide variety of cases that come under the jurisdiction of the Family Court, including child protection, juvenile delinquency and Person's in Need of Supervision (PINS).  Mr. Perahia's practice includes forensic assessments, advocacy and crisis intervention.  Mr. Perahia has worked on cases heard in Supreme Court and participated on Federal class action law suits.  Mr. Perahia's experience also includes clinical treatment of children, adults and families.
