Angela Vance
Adjunct Lecturer
Angela Vance is teaching Theory and Treatment of Suicidal Behavior at the Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW). She received her MSW from Adelphi University and then worked with adults, families and children at Covenant House and the Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy as a clinician and supervisor. Since 1980 Ms. Vance has had a full-time private practice in psychotherapy with offices in Brooklyn and Manhattan. She has taught at the Fordham Graduate School of Social Work since the late 1970s, first as a full-time faculty member and then as an adjunct. Among other subjects, she has taught Crisis Intervention, Ego Psychology, Advanced Assessment and Diagnosis (Psychopathology), and Clinical Practice. In 2001, Fordham University awarded Ms. Vance its bene merenti medal for 25 years of outstanding teaching.
