Faculty Positions  The Columbia University School of Social Work invites nominations and applications for tenured and tenure-track positions. The School seeks candidates who evidence a strong commitment to research, scholarly publications, and the preparation of research proposals for external funding. Though we will consider outstanding applicants with expertise in areas applicable to social work research and teaching, we will give priority to faculty who can teach in the following areas:
The Columbia University School of Social Work is a national leader in academic research and has been rated 1st or 2nd in faculty research productivity for the last 15 years. The School has an increasingly diverse and interdisciplinary domestic and international faculty. Candidates who would add to our diversity or interdisciplinary mix are especially encouraged to apply. New York City, the nation’s largest and most diverse city, is an incomparable social laboratory for teaching and research. Opportunities abound for involvement in the city and in communities across the globe. For all positions, a doctoral degree in social work or a related social or behavioral science is required. For practice positions, candidates must have a master's degree in social work and two years post BSW or MSW practice experience. Candidates should submit a curriculum vita, names and addresses of three professional references, a statement of research agenda, and samples of written/published material.
