Bio:

Dr. Fang-pei Chen has had a variety of generalist social work practice experiences in Taipei focusing on community services for individuals and families. She has worked with families with issues related to mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, and through service programs such as case management, vocational training and employment services, respite care for caregivers, and community resources development, in both grass-roots organizations and public sectors. Her research focuses on service delivery and implementation of community-based psychiatric rehabilitation programs.


Research Interests:

  • Service delivery, implementation, and dissemination of community mental health programs
  • Severe mental illness, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and homelessness
  • Social work generalist practice in mental health
  • Family caregiving for people with disabilities
  • Qualitative research methods (Grounded Theory)
