Bio:
Dr. Fang-pei Chen has had a variety of generalist social work practice experiences in Taipei focusing on community services for individuals and families. She has worked with families with issues related to mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, and through service programs such as case management, vocational training and employment services, respite care for caregivers, and community resources development, in both grass-roots organizations and public sectors. Her current research examines service delivery and implementation of community psychiatric rehabilitation programs. Dr. Chen was the principal investigator on several exploratory studies focusing on different aspects of service delivery processes and dynamics, including client engagement, personalization of care, development of community supports for clients, disengagement/discharge, and family involvement, in evidence-based programs such as Assertive Community Treatment and Critical Time Intervention.
