Reduced Residency Program

Those who have been employed for at least two years in a human service organization may work toward the Master of Science in Social Work degree part-time while they remain employed by their organizations for the first two years of the program. Students take at least two courses each term. In the third year, the students attend school on a full-time basis, enrolling in course work and field education, completing the necessary 900 field hours. The program, called the Reduced Residency Program, takes at least five terms, but no longer than four years. Reduced Residency students employed by one of the 300-plus New York regional human service agencies with which CUSSW maintains field education relationships are eligible for a scholarship covering 50% of tuition, available by filling out the scholarship application.

Applications will only be reviewed when all required documentation has been received and the student has been admitted. After careful review, students are then sent an official letter describing any loans and scholarship for which they are eligible.
