Virginia Bellsmith Scholarship
Provides a partial grant based on need for a master's degree student interested in clinical social work and allied fields. A gift of Mollie Brown Parkes in memory of a member of the faculty; supplemented by Professor Bellsmith's niece, Ruth Eller.
Elinor Kridel Berheim Scholarship
A merit award to full-time students concentrating in alcohol and substance abuse.
Rita Beck Black Memorial Scholarship
A partial tuition grant awarded to a student intending to pursue a career in the field of health and disabilities.
Dena Fliegel Bocian Memorial Scholarship
To support a student in the School of Social Work endeavoring to improve conditions for social work in union Local 215 of AFSCME - District Council 1707, or another Jewish agency with a unionized shop that serves either sectarian or non-sectarian populations. Established by Arthur Bocian in memory of his wife.
Eveline M. Burns Memorial Scholarship
A University held, interschool scholarship, split between the Schools of Social Work, Law, and International and Public Affairs, for doctoral students in the 1st year of research, concentrating in social policy. Selected by the doctoral chair.
Helen Lehman Buttenweiser Scholarship and Fellowship Fund
Preferably for students who are in the Dual Degree M.S./J.D. Program.
Mary Antoinette Cannon Fellowship
A merit award to an outstanding student.
Phyllis and Joseph Caroff Centennial Scholarship in Health and Mental Health
A tuition fellowship granted to a master's student with an interest in health and mental health.
Jennifer Corn Carter Scholarship
A grant to given to CUSSW students, preferably second year, who choose the New York City or National Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society for his/her field placement and who works with multiple sclerosis patients.
Maureen A. Cogan Fellowship
A partial tuition fellowship to support a student who demonstrates need and is concentrating in family and children's services.
 
Paige E. Cook, Jr. Scholarship
A partial tuition grant will be awarded on the basis of excellence, with preference to a student of African ancestry, or someone with a career interest in the area of Mr. Cook's work - substance abuse, world of work, men's issues, cross-cultural issues, and clinical practice.
Robert W. De Forest Scholarship
A partial tuition grant for one or more students interested in medical social work.
Charlotte S. Entemann Scholarship Fund
A partial tuition scholarship for a student preferably specializing in family counseling.
Eunice K Fiorito Memorial Advocacy Scholarship
A fellowship awarded to a student who demonstrates need, and is dedicated to a career in effective social work advocacy, or as an ombudsman on behalf of persons with disabilities, older adults, the very poor, or other at-risk or seriously disadvantaged populations.
Sylvia D. and Mose J. Firestone Centennial Scholarship
A partial scholarship awarded to students interested in clinical social work.
Ruth Fizdale Doctoral Dissertation Support Fund
A grant awarded to doctoral candidates in the field of clinical and/or social health services for older adults, and/or their family. Dissertations must be in process.
Ida and Mitchell I. Ginsberg Social Policy Endowment
The income from this fund shall support a second-year master's degree candidate with a strong interest in social policy. Established by Dean Emeritus and Mrs. Mitchell I Ginsberg.
Judith J. Ginsberg Memorial Fellowship
An honor grant awarded annually at the end of the first year of study to a student with outstanding achievement in the field of the handicapped. Established by family and friends in memory of Judith J. Ginsberg.
Good Neighbor Federation Fellowship
A fellowship awarded to a second year student without regard to color, race, or creed.
Bernice Wolf Gordon Memorial Scholarship Fund
A partial tuition grant for a master's or doctoral student (preferably from Israel) specializing in the care of children.
Hyman Grossboard Scholarship
Established an anonymous gift to honor a member of the faculty for forty years. Grants awarded annually to students concentrating in clinical social work.
John F. Heimerdinger Centennial Scholarship
Awarded to a 2nd year student in the administration sequence, whose placement is at the Jewish Guild for the Blind. If no students are placed at the Jewish Guild for the Blind, a student whose placement is at the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services may be chosen, then a student in the admin sequence at another placement.
Dr. Melvin Herman Scholarship
An endowed partial tuition scholarship given by Mr. and Mrs. Miles Cahn.
Esther M. Hilton Scholarship
A grant for a student with at least two years of social work experience. Established in memory of Esther M. Hilton, social worker and social work educator.
Eugenie Hochfeld Memorial Scholarship
Established by Henry Hochfeld in memory of his wife. Preference is given to students interested in international adoptions.
Eli Hochfeld Memorial Scholarship
A prize awarded to students who the medical leadership of the Brookdale Institute determine have performed well or made a worthy suggestion in the field of Gerontology, particularly in the area of Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases.
Dorothy Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship
A partial tuition grant for a second year student concentrating in child welfare. Established by Ruth H. Norman in memory of a member of the faculty.
Ruth Insel Scholarship
Awarded to students who pursue studies in medical and/or psychiatric social work.
Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women
This grant provides two doctoral dissertation fellowships per year in the amount of $20,000 each for women in their final year of work on their dissertation.
Lucille M. Jirikow Scholarship
An endowed partial tuition scholarship in memory of Lucile M. Jirikow.
 
Zabelle Karagheusian Fellowship
For students of minority groups and for selected applicants from the developing countries. Established by Leila Karagheusian in memory of her mother.
 
D'Elbert Keenan Scholarship
An annual award granted to a student who is concentrating in clinical practice/mental health. Established by Selma Keenan '45, in honor of her late husband.
Richard Kohnstamm Scholarship
Tuition assistance provided to CUSSW students on the basis of need.
Jesusa Ortiz Kolomeyer Scholarship
Awarded to a female student of Hispanic heritage, who demonstrates need. Preference in order: (a) graduate of the University of Puerto Rico (b) Puerto Rican heritage (c) Hispanic of other heritage (d) female student from New York.
Porter R. Lee Fellowship
A grant for a first- or second-year student. Established by the Alumni Association of the School in memory of Porter R. Lee.
 
Theodore V. Low Memorial Scholarship
A merit scholarship for a highly qualified student from outside New York State.
 
Ethel Lucas Mathiasen Memorial Scholarship Fund
Partial tuition assistance awarded to a half-time or full-time student, who demonstrates need, preferably from New Jersey.
Joe Ellen Montei Scholarship
Partial tuition assistance awarded to students committed to pursuing careers in public child welfare.
John B. Montogomery Memorial Scholarship
A partial tuition grant for either a first- or second-year master's student.
Eli M. Nathan Memorial Scholarship
A partial tuition grant for a student specializing in psychiatric social work. Established by the Good Neighbor Federation.
 
Overbrook Scholarship for Advanced Study in Clinical Social Work
A partial tuition award to an outstanding second-year student in clinical social work practice. Established by the Overbrook Foundation through the generous assistance of Kathryn and Robin Graham.
Walter E. and Willie Green-Day Perry Grant
A grant awarded to a doctoral student on the basis of need.
Anna Elizabeth Rapp Fellowship
An annual fellowship funded by an endowment established with legacies from Paul L. Rapp, an alumnus of the School, and his wife, Burnis Benson Rapp, in memory of Mr. Rapp's mother.
Blanca Rosenberg Scholarship
A tuition assistance scholarship for students interested in providing direct service to victims of relocation or immigration and related traumas.
Dr. Maurice V. Russell Fellowship
Established by friends and colleagues of Dr. Russell '50, this annual award is granted to students concentrating in health/mental health.
Ruth L. Sagner Fellowship
For a master's or doctoral student who is a single parent returning to school. Established by Alan Sagner in honor of his wife to commemorate their fortieth wedding anniversary.
Louise G. Scheinberg Fellowship
A fellowship given to a CUSSW student, preferably second year, who has a field placement at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital with the head of the neurology research and training program for multiple sclerosis.

A fellowship to assist foreign students.
Hyman J. Weiner Memorial Scholarship
A partial tuition scholarship provided in memory of Hyman J. Weiner, an esteemed member of the faculty until his death in 1981.
Mae L. Wien Memorial Prize in Family Planning, Counseling and Population Control
A competitive memorial prize established by Lawrence Wein, and family and friends of his late wife. It provides an annual award to one or more students who demonstrate outstanding competence in the field of family planning, counseling, or population control.
Elma Kahn Wolf Centennial Scholarship in Clinical Social Work
Scholarship awarded to a second year student who demonstrates financial need and a strong interest in clinical social work.
