Our New Home

The new home for the School of Social Work, completed in August 2004, is an 11-story (144,800-square-feet) state-of-the-art facility on Amsterdam Avenue between West 121st Street and Morningside Drive, on the northeast corner of the Columbia campus. The new facility has 13 classrooms (many of which are fitted with the latest audio-visual and computer equipment), two seminar rooms, 13 conference rooms, a 50-seat computer lab, a 7,000-square-foot library, breakout/role play rooms and student meeting rooms.

Travel Directions

By bus:
The M11 stops at 120th Street and Amsterdam. The M4 and M104 stop at 122nd Street and Broadway. (Walk one block east to the School.) The M60 stops at 123rd Street and Amsterdam. For more New York City Transit bus information, click here.

By subway:
Take the 1 Subway (Local) to 116th Street. Walk through the Main Campus and turn left (North) on Amsterdam Avenue. You may also take the A, B, C or D Subway to 125th Street. To view New York City Transit's interactive subway map, click here.

By Metro-North (train):
Get off at 125th Street and take the M60 bus west to 122nd Street and Amsterdam. For more Metro-North information, click here.

By car:
(from the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels:) Take the West Side Highway north to the 95th St Exit. Then go North (left) on Broadway to 122nd St.
(from all points north:) Take the Henry Hudson Parkway (which then becomes the West Side Highway) south to 125th St. Go south on Broadway to 122nd St.

There is a parking garage on W. 122nd Street between Broadway and Amsterdam.
