CUSSW Alum Gail Nayowith ('81) Profiled in New York Times

Life and times of Nayowith, the Executive Director of Citizens' Committee for Children of New York, chronicled in "Public Lives"

Nayowith, an esteemed graduate of the School, has spent a large part of her career working with the Citizens' Committee, a non-profit group that monitors a wide range of social issues. Nayowith also sits on the independent panel that will issue what is a much-anticipated report expected to be released next month on the city's Emergency Assistance Unit. After completing her Master's degree at CUSSW, Nayowith spent eight years working in city government in the Department of Mental Health and Human Resources Administration and the city's Health and Hospitals Corporation.
