CUSSW Professor Nabila El-Bassel was invited by the National Institute of Health (NIH) to be a facilitator at the Career Development Workshop on HIV Prevention Research for and by Racial and Ethnic Minorities on July 26th and 27th in Atlanta, Georgia. El-Bassel, director of CUSSW's Social Intervention Group, was invited to teach a breakout session entitled "HIV Prevention Over the Life course." The event is an NIH initiative aimed at cultivating racial and ethnic minority scientists engaged in HIV prevention research. El-Bassel is a CUSSW faculty member and a leading voice in the field of HIV research.
