Mission: (Columbia University School of Social Work)
The Child Welfare Infonet is designed to provide informational resources to social work practitioners and advocates in the field of family and children services. Initiated under the auspices of the Ruth Harris Ottman Chair in Family and Child Welfare and planned in collaboration with the Advisory Committee on Family and Children’s Services. The Infonet is funded by Hedge Funds Care, Inc. The Infonet has the following objectives:
  • To enhance social workers' awareness of current events, legislation, and policies that impact on practice in family and children’s service.
  • To expand social workers' knowledge by providing information about selected practice issues and program models and by presenting recent research findings related to delivery of family and children’s services.
  • To provide quick access via the Internet to critical resources such as journal articles, professional associations, governmental agencies, research centers and studies.
  • To contribute to social workers' professional advancement by providing information related to research and grant opportunities, workshops and continuing education programs, and new books, videos, and journals.
