Columbia StarCraft is a club at Columbia University for students who play and/or watch StarCraft II, a real-time strategy computer game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The best players on the team compete in the Collegiate StarLeague, where North American schools play against each other for prize money and bragging rights. Columbia had a strong showing in the league's 2013 Spring season, placing 4th overall.
Weekly meetings are held on Fridays in Hamilton Hall, during which we play, practice, watch competitive matches, and hang out. Anyone is welcome to join, regardless of skill level. To contact us, join the Facebook group and introduce yourself! We aim to create a friendly and fun gaming environment and contribute to the growth of eSports at Columbia. In the past, we have organized viewing parties for major tournaments and attended events such as Major League Gaming championships and a showmatch versus New York University.
