» Columbia Wins Again at NYU FallCraft 2013

November 3, 2012 — Columbia once again participated in NYU's FallCraft event this year, which included another showmatch (best of 7, all-kill format) against NYU's CSL team. The Columbia team was able to defend their title by narrowly defeating NYU 4-3 this time. The VOD for the event (including a discussion panel before the showmatch) can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/cstarleague/b/476052050.

The two team captains prepare to brawl.

Recap: Alex "Kiiri" Dong started off the showmatch for Columbia and was able to defeat two opponents, Savvy (formerly Refrain) and VictorX, giving Columbia the quick 2-0 lead. NYU then sent out AspecT, who was able to take out Alex despite having a broken arm.

Columbia's John "PengWin" Peng went up next, but was defeated by the crippled yet fearsome opponent. Martin "TaylorSwift" Li was finally able to end AspecT's reign, but then lost to NYU's last hope, a Platinum-ranked player named Death. With the series tied 3-3, Columbia's Matt "Bargak" Soyk rounded out the showmatch, giving Columbia the 4-3 victory.
