OverviewPay your Student Account Statement online by September 15.
Understand Your Student Account StatementColumbia electronically bills students for tuition, fees, and other charges at the beginning of each term. This is provided in the form of a Student Account Statement, which is distributed online and can be accessed any time through the secure E-Billing website. No paper bills will be mailed by the University. The first Student Account Statement you receive will list anticipated charges and credits for the upcoming term, including charges for tuition and fees and credits such as an admissions deposit or financial aid award. Subsequent Student Account Statements will reflect any additional charges or credits, such as Dining or additional printing. The balance is due in full by the designated "bill due" date, unless you have enrolled in a payment plan or are a fully sponsored student participating in our third-party billing program.
When your
Student Account Statement is generated, an email notification is sent
directly to your Columbia University email account. Individuals
authorized to view your Statements ("authorized payers") are also
notified through
email
that a new Statement is ready to view and/or pay online. Pay Your E-BillYour Student Account Statement will be available via the University’s E-Billing system. You may pay your bill online, by phone, by wire, or in-person.
Through the E-Billing system, students may also designate another party as an authorized payer. This eliminates the need to forward balance information to anyone assisting in paying for your education. To authorize a payer, log-in to the E-Billing system and select "Authorize Payers." Payment for charges must be received by the provided deadline. A late payment charge will be assessed to any account that is not paid in full. Read more about the E-Billing system, tuition, fees and payment options here. Sign up for Direct DepositIf you are receiving financial aid or a stipend, you may receive a credit on your student account. The University's preferred method of refund distribution is through direct deposit. Direct deposit is the fastest and most convenient way to receive a refund. To enroll in Direct Deposit, log into SSOL and click on "Direct Deposit" to set up transfer of funds to a U.S. checking or savings account. Click here for more guidance on how to do this. Veterans' BenefitsThe U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, as well as state and local government, offers a number of educational assistance programs for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their dependents. Based on the time and length of service, as well as current status, veterans can be eligible for one or more of these programs. If you plan to utilize VA educational benefits to attend Columbia, please visit the Columbia Veteran Affairs website and complete the checklist for processing your benefits. |
