The Swedish Program at Columbia is located in Hamilton Hall, the same building as the Program in Finnish Studies (both within the Department of Germanic Languages). Courses in Finnish and Finnish linguistics and literature are taught by Dr. Aili Flint, Senior Lecturer in Finnish. Students taking courses in the Swedish Program are also welcome to enroll in Finnish (and vice versa). The Program in Swedish and the Program in Finnish Studies sometimes cosponsor cultural programs available to students and to the Columbia and New York communities.

Other languages offered in the Department of Germanic Languages include not only German but also Dutch and Yiddish. Both language and literature courses are offered in these areas each semester. More than half a hundred other languages are also taught at Columbia University.
