Scott Sherman. . . Sr. Free/Fly/I.M. Somerville, NJ

Continues to be the Lions' biggest prize. . . finaled in three individual events at last year's Easterns: 5th in the 200 I.M. (1:50.90), 4th in the 100 fly (49.86), and 4th in the 100 free (45.15) while contributing to the Lions' sixth place finish. Par t of four relays, Sherman set a new varsity record in leading off the 400 free relay (44.92). . . in 196-7 season, Sherman looks to add his name to the record book at least three more times, possibly four, and hopes to become the Lions' first swimmer to q ualify for the NCAA's since 1983. . . a former YMCA national finalist. . . attended Somerville H.S. . . Latin American Studies major. . .


David Michaels. . . Sr. Distance Free Los Alamitos, CA

Co-captain along with Sherman. . . Dave has qualified for Easterns all three years and has improved steadily each year. . . a hard worker and solid team leader, Dave hopes to cap his career by scoring at this year's Eastern championships. . . an avid open water and rough water swimmer, Dave has placed in the top five in many of California's open water championships, most notably the La Jolla Ronja Water Challenge. . . attended Los Alamitos High School. . . Ed Yaeger. . . Sr. Sprint Free Philadelphia, PA

Will return to the Lions after a semester in Spain. . . hopes to regain the form of his freshman and sophomore years, when he qualified and scored in three individual events and four relays at Easterns. . . has the ability to chase the school record in the 200 free as well as the opportunity to be on several record setting relays. . . co-winner of the 93-94 Most Outstanding Freshman Award (along with Sherman). . . as a freshman, Eastern scorer in the 50, 100, and 200 frees. . . a former All-American, All Inter-Ac, and All Camdie performer at William Penn charter. . . Latin Studies major. . .


Michael McCosker. . . Jr. Mid-Distance Free Alamo, CA

Shared most-outstanding Freshman award 94-95. . . followed up his successful first year with a banner sophomore season. . . had two top 8 finishes at last year's Easterns: 8th in the 1000 free (9:29.88) and 7th in the 1650 free (16:04.76), and swam the s econd leg of the 800 free relay. . . in 96-97 the Lions will be looking for McCosker to add the 200 and 500 frees to his scoring totals at Easterns. . . attended San Ramon Valley H.S. . . .Economics/Philosophy. . .


Matt Gilman. . . Jr. I.M./Breast/Free Norman, OK

Maybe the Lions' most versatile swimmer. . . has scored key dual meet points in almost every event in his first two years. . . two time Eastern qualifier. . . last year scored in both the 300 I.M. and 200 breast races. . . with continued development, could score in three individual events and possible be a big final swimmer in two. . . a disc jockey for a local New York City radio station. . . has his own fashion line. . . hails from Norman, Oklahoma. . . attended Norman H.S.. ..Film major. . .


Chris Ferris. . . So. Distance Free Oswego, IL

One of the Lions' more talented freshmen in 95-96. . . Eastern qualifier in three events and point producer in two. . . achieved lifetime bests in the 500/1000/1650 frees last year. . . should be the Lions' top distance man again in 96-97. . . looking to score in three events at this year's championships. . . dedicated athlete who works hard, could develop into an Eastern finalist this year..could also swim a leg of the 800 free relay. . . an Illinois state finalist for powerful Napervile Central. . . now resides in Oswego, IL. . . political science major


Sharif Khaleel. . . So. Spring Free/Fly/Breast Edina, MN

Another of the talented freshmen in the class of '99. . . sometimes wishes he were still playing hockey for the Minnesota North Stars..a top sprinter last year, the Lions are looking for an even better year. . . Khaleel swam on three relays at Easterns as well as in three individual events. . . has the ability to final in at least two events, maybe three this year. . . should be a part of a 400 free relay that could break three minutes and set a new school record (currently at 2:59.60). . . Minnesota stat e finalist in 50 free and 100 breast. . . attended Edina High School. . . Engineering. . .


Russell Perkins. . . So. Sprint Free/Fly Los Angeles, CA

Co-winner of the Most Outstanding Freshmen award last year... returns to do even better. . . Eastern scorer in both the 50 and 100 free events. . . part of four Lion relays and the anchor on three of them. . . had one of the fastest relay splits ever by a L ion freshman. . . will be focusing on adding the 100 fly or 200 free to his eastern portfolio. . . ex-member of "Boyz in the Hood". . . high school star at Eagle Rock high in Los Angeles. . . pre-med major. . .


Chris Tennyson. . . So. Breast/I.M. Bloomfield Hills, MI

Co-winner of the Most Outstanding Freshman award.. . had one of the best seasons ever for a Lion freshman. . . scored in the big finals in two individual events and just missed a school record in the 200 breast. . . should be an east ern finalist again in 96-97. . . has sights set on being an NCAA qualifier in 200 breast. . . has final experience at state high school level, the YMCA national level, and the junior national level. . . high school team, Andover, is perennial Michigan sta te Class B champions. . . film major
