About Tae Kwon Do Tae Kwon Do is a modern martial art based on ancient Korean and Japanese forms. Literally it translates as “hand foot way” or, “the way of punching and kicking”. Thus, it is not a grappling art or one that emphasizes weapons. As well as an art, it is also a sport, and was included in the Olympics in 1988. It aims to condition the entire body by developing physical and mental strength and agility. It is the world’s most popular martial art in terms of number of practitioners. |
