Forms and Competitions

Columbia Tae Kwon Do is both a Club Sport and an Athletic Team, and we strive to balance the two. For those looking to train, get and stay in shape, or to learn a new sport, you’re in the right place. For those who have prior experience in Tae Kwon Do, and who seek to train or compete at the college level, we are happy to welcome you on board. Also, if you happen to have experience in teaching or instructing, we will gladly utilize your skills. Everyone has the opportunity to compete, and is in no way obligated to do so. That being said, it is a great privilege and thrill to be able to represent Columbia University at tournaments, and is an extremely fun experience.

Our club members who have prior training experience have trained under both ITF (International Taekwondo Federation) and/or WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation) rules and regulations. Columbia University is under the instruction of Master Lee, who follows the WTF rules. Please note that no matter a student’s experience or background in Tae Kwon Do, we always respect the methods of training or teachings of a fellow team member and both ITF and WTF trainers are welcome to our club.
