ABOUT

The Columbia Taiwanese American Students Association is an undergraduate organization dedicated to the following goals:

To build a greater community on campus and within New York City for anyone interested in Taiwan
To build a community for individuals of Taiwanese heritage at Columbia University
To foster an awareness of Taiwanese culture, history, and current affairs
To explore issues of race, ethnicity, and national identity

The NATIONAL CHIANG KAI-SHEK MEMORIAL HALL is erected in memory of the former President of the Republic of China. Inside the main building lies a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-Shek, sitting and smiling in traditional Chinese dress. The ground floor features a library and museum, and an hourly changing of the guards. The monument is surrounded by a park and multiple Chinese gates. Collectively, the plaza is known as Liberty Square.
