The PRESIDENTIAL PALACE was once the Office of the Governor-General of Taiwan. Damaged in Allied bombing during World War II, the building was restored as the Presidential Office shortly after the Chinese Civil War. Reminiscent of Japanese architecture, the facade is oriented towards the rising sun, at the head of the Ketagalan Boulevard. The two-part, six-story building mostly houses government offices and maintenance services.
