CALENDAR
The LONGSHAN TEMPLE was built in 1738 by Fujianese settlers. Multiple earthquakes and fires have damaged the building since, including the Raid on Taipei in World War II. The temple has nonetheless been constantly rebuilt, and today it serves as an emblematic example of classical Taiwanese architecture, taking in many southern Chinese influences. Like most Taiwanese temples, the Longshan Temple worships a mixture of Buddhist, Taoist, and folk dieties.
