DANSHUI is a small sea-side town in Taipei County. It is a popular site for viewing the sun setting into the Taiwan Strait. The town was once an important harbor, before its port operations were moved to Keelung. In the last ten years though, the town has reemerged. With several riverside parks, open-air markets, a fisherman's wharf, and an increasing number of passenger ferries, the town is becoming a popular tourist zone.
