Advertise In the Fed
The Fed is a great medium for advertisement in and around the Columbia Community. We reach a great number of students and faculty and our prices are very affordable.
Advertising in The Fed is the most cost effective way to reach the Columbia community. The Fed reaches over 4,000 Columbia students every three weeks, and enjoys an enthusiastic following among undergraduates. Our readers look to us for an original, critical, funny and smart viewpoint that no other campus publication can match. We have a reputation for professional-quality production and top-notch writing. The Fed's strongly positive image can be an asset to your organization when you advertise in the Fed.
Fed ad rates consistently undercut those of our competitor papers by large margins. Compare our rates to those of The Spectator, The Observer, or The Bulletin. An ad in The Fed reaches more of the campus, and commands more respect among the student body, for less.

Opening an Account
In order to advertise in the Fed we ask that you please open an account with us so that we can better serve your needs. Please contact thefed@columbia.edu about opening an account.
Please include:
- the name of your business
- the type of business
- contact information
- the size ad you want to run
- how many issues would this ad run
- and anything else you deem relevant

Schedule: the Fed prints approximately 5 issues a semester
Circulation: 5,000 members of the Columbia Community

The Fed's ad rates are very competitive.
Larger ads are scaled to be even more affordable.

Eighth Page | $65 |
Rates will not change during the academic semester as defined by Columbia
University. However, The Fed reserves the right to change the ad rates
from semester to semester.

Purchase your first ad and receive 50% discount off the second one!
Instead of paying $600 dollars total for two full page advertisements,
with this discount the cost is only $450. Likewise the price of two eight-page
advertisements is $98 (a savings of $32).
Big Time Advertisers Listen Up!
If you purchase an ad for every single issue of the academic year (9 issues), then you will receive 50% off for every issue! This means that you can advertise a half page ad in every single issue of the Fed for just $787.50! Ads must be at least a quarter page in size, however.
Design
You are encouraged to design your own ad. If this is not possible, our talented staff is happy to work with you to design an ad, free of charge.
Submitting Your Ad
We will accept advertisements in hardcopy or electronically (for best
quality, electronic submission is suggested). Mail hardcopy submissions
to the Fed's mailbox or email us and we'll
send someone by to pick it up. If you do mail your submission, make sure
to contact Ethan Heitner (esh2001@columbia.edu).
Electronic Submission
Email your submission (Word 97+ or Quark compatible) to thefed@columbia.edu
with the phrase "Advertisement Submission" in the Subject line. Please
take the time to open an advertiser's account with us before submitting
your ad.
