Biography

Tenzin Dazel

Tenzin Dazel was born in Mysore, India. Her parents worked for the Tibetan Government in exile and had the privilege to attend the Tibetan Childrens Village school in Dharamsala. Aimed at becoming a fashion designer, Dazel studied fashion design in Delhi after high school and then got the opportunity to continue her fashion study in France. She graduated from the Institut Français de la Mode in 2005 and has interned in well known fashion houses such as Isabel Marant, Ann Demeulemeester, Paco Rabanne, and Jean Charles de Castelbajac. Dazel has worked as an assistant designer for Jerome Dreyfuss, a well-known bag designer in Paris for two years.

SEEDS is her very first short film which she directed, produced and cast herself. Her main intention in making this film was to find a way to show the 2nd generation of Tibetans born in exile like herself and imagine a day with a few of them, what they talk about and how they live. Using a super 8 camera she bought in an antique shop, she went to Delhi during the summer break of August 2008 for 3 weeks and filmed SEEDS. She is currently living in Paris, France.
