Synopsis
A city boy Sirozhka is taken for the summer to his grandmother's place in the countryside. There, he discovers the Ukrainian village with its distinct rhythm of life, customs, and its quiet irresistible beauty. Most importantly he befriends a local girl Katia. As is often the case with urban Ukrainian children, Sirozhka speaks Russian while Katia - Ukrainian. Language difference notwithstanding the two kids quickly become attached to each other and create a kind of a toy family with a doghouse serving as their toy house. The summer comes to an end and Sirozhka has to part with Katia.
