Columbia University Ad Hoc Grievance Committee

About the Committee

Columbia University recently established an ad hoc grievance committee to enquire into and evaluate student concerns, complaints, and grievances about faculty conduct in their role as teachers. This is one of several steps the University is taking to help ensure that it is protecting the rights of students and faculty and to create an academic environment that promotes the frank and open discussion of ideas.

Contacting the Committee

To request an appointment with the committee, please contact Dr. Margaret Edsall, Assistant Vice President for the Arts and Sciences, at me2@columbia.edu or leave a written request in the mailbox of the Office of the Vice President on the ground floor of Low Library. Email submissions should reference the Ad Hoc Grievance Committee in the subject line; written requests should be addressed to the Ad Hoc Grievance Committee, c/o Margaret Edsall.
