faculty/student interaction dinner
The purpose of the Faculty/Student Interaction Dinner program is to facilitate informal communication between full-time faculty members and undergraduate students. Arts and Sciences faculty members holding a full-time appointment at the rank of Lecturer in Language, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor are eligible to host a meal. In order to achieve the goal of fostering informal relationships, the maximum number of students that can be hosted at any meal is 15; the majority of the students attending must be undergraduates. These meals may take place at either the faculty member’s home or at an on-campus site (found by the faculty member). In addition, one of our most popular choices is the lunch buffet at Faculty House. Unfortunately, they are offering the buffet at lunch only; there is no longer a dinner buffet. If you are interested in hosting your meal at Faculty House, we strongly urge you to choose a date and get your request to us as early as possible in the semester to make sure you get your desired date.
We will begin accepting applications for the spring 2013 FSID program on Monday, February 4, 2013.
A faculty member wishing to schedule a lunch or dinner should complete the FSID Order Form and the list of attendees. These should be returned to either Qamar Said or Audrey Rosenblatt at 635 West 115th St. In order to accommodate the growing number of faculty members who are hosting meals, the forms must be returned to us at least 5 business days before your meal. Be aware that University holidays and weekends are not included in the 5 business days. Please note that meals are not permitted during the last week of classes, during regular class meeting times, or the reading period or finals week. The last possible date to host a meal for the spring 2013 semester is Monday, April 29, 2012. IN ORDER TO DO THAT, WE MUST RECEIVE THESE FORMS NO LATER THAN APRIL 22, 2013.

Upon receipt of your forms, we will place the order with your chosen restaurant.
Please note: We cannot reimburse you for meals arranged independently and we cannot add restaurants once the semester has begun. If you have a restaurant that you would like to suggest for inclusion, please forward us a copy of the menu and we will consider the establishment for inclusion in the program in the future.
Link for Faculty House: LUNCH RESERVATIONS ONLY, M-F 12-2 PM. We strongly urge you to choose a date and get your request to us as early as possible in the semester to make sure you get your desired date. There is no menu selection for Faculty House; the group will be served from the buffet for the day. The buffet consists of a variety of soups, salads, cheeses, hot entrées, a carving station, and desserts. Special dietary requests can be accommodated if known 48 hours in advance.
