Asia For Educators Program http://afe.easia.columbia.edu AFE sponsors and co-sponsors numerous programs around the country to support education about Asia at both the undergraduate and K-12 levels.
Center For Korean Research
Established in 1988, the most important goal pursued by the Center has been the expansion of Korean instructional resources in history, political science/international relations, sociology, anthropology, business, economics, and literature. Beginning in 2006, the Center for Korean Research will support the POSCO NGO Fellowship Program. Two fellows each year for five years will conduct research that is intended to further the development of NGOs in Korea and will be presented at an annual symposium.
China International Business--University Seminar
This seminar is designed to meet an urgent need by business executives, government officials, and scholars for information and analysis of rapid developments in China’s new relations with international business. Topics included are frequently interdisciplinary; they range from government and company strategies to lessons of successes and failures in the emerging relationships.

Expanding East Asian Studies (ExEAS) Program http://www.ExEAS.org
The ExEAS Program is intended to create innovative courses and teaching materials that incorporate the study of East Asia in broad thematic, trans-national, and interdisciplinary contexts.
Forum on Asia in the Curriculum online http://asiainthecurriculum.org
The Forum offers a multi-topic, online discussion board for educators teaching about Asia, and was launched by Asia for Educators in 2003.
The KEDO Oral History Project
The KEDO Oral History Project is an international research project that aims to record the history of the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) and develop ideas for how KEDO's experiences can be used in contemporary and future initiatives to promote nuclear non-proliferation. more
Modern Tibetan Studies Program
The first program dedicated to teaching about the society, history, culture and economics of modern Tibet. It supports and carries out research into modern Tibet, runs a language study program at Tibet University in Lhasa, and organizes public activities. more

This seminar is concerned with the politics, society, culture, and international relations of China from the early nineteenth century to the present. more
Modern East Asia: Japan-- University Seminar
The seminar's members, representing the full range of academic disciplines that bear upon the study of Japan and including Japan specialists from government, business, and the nonprofit sectors, meet regularly to discuss scholarly papers on all aspects of modern Japan, from literature, art, and the performing arts to politics, economics, social issues, and the US-Japan bilateral relationship. more
National Consortium for Teaching about Asia www.nctasia.org
NCTA is a nation-wide program, funded by the Freeman Foundation, currently offering seminars and study tours for history, geography, social studies, and literature teachers in forty-six states.
Southeast Asia in World Affairs-- University Seminar
The seminar is concerned with the contemporary political economy of Southeast Asia. The seminar's members—policymakers from the public and private sectors, business people, journalists, and NGO representatives, as well as academics—give the seminar a strong policy orientation. There is a particular focus on issues that cross borders, both within and beyond the region, including Southeast Asian relations with the United States, Japan, China, and Russia.
