Typical Student Profile Early or mid-career professionals with some background in East Asia, who wish to enter an East Asia-related profession or professional school, and students planning to enter a doctoral program Those with limited background in East Asia who would like to develop a speciaization in the area. Those who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of East Asia before entering a professional school (such as law, business, journalism, language pedagogy). Those who wish to engage in comprehensive study of East Asia before entering a doctoral program in East Asian studies Those who wish to combine a professional international affairs degree with a regional focus on contemporary East Asia. Qualified applicants have some background/experience in East Asia and wish to receive professional training for a career in international affairs. Those who have professional experience in international affairs and wish to focus that knowledge and training on the East Asia region Those wishing to expand knowledge at the graduate level and have cross-departmental research interests, working professionals supplementing daily work and careers, students preparing for entry into professional school or PhD study. Program is open to traditional and non-traditional graduate students with all levels of background in East Asian Studies.
