Applying to MARSEA
Application to the MARSEA program should be made through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS). Applications are due no later than January 15 for the fall semester and October 15 for the spring semester. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until April 15.

Applicants should upload in the appropriate sections of the online application, transcripts and test scores and other material being submitted in support of the application. Do not send hard copies.
Please note this is a full-time one year M.A. program and cannot be completed part-time.

Financial Aid
The Weatherhead East Asian Institute offers a limited number of merit-based fellowships each year for incoming master’s students.
The Weatherhead Student Fellowship is awarded annually to selected first year Fall semester entering MARSEA students. The fellowship provides partial tuition. MARSEA applicants will automatically be considered for the Student Fellowship.
Applicants to the MARSEA program who are U.S. citizens or permanent residence can apply for the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships (FLAS), graduate loans and the Federal Work-Study Program.
