Christine Swanson

Other fun facts: I enjoy painting in my spare time and won a spot in the faculty-nominated art show at my undergraduate university. I love the outdoors. I have hiked in the Alps, Alaska, the Blue Ridge, Moganshan, and several places around Kunming and Shanghai.

Danyang Li

Academic Interests at Columbia: Chinese Foreign Policy, Chinese government and the Responsibility to Protect.
Other fun facts: I enjoy playing flute and listening to classical music. I used to work as a Chinese teacher while studying in Japan.

 

Hansol Park

Other fun facts: I have played the violin since the age of four, as my mother wished, and almost went to a music school. Even though I eventually chose to pursue my passion for academics, I still avidly listen to violin pieces to release stress. My favorite piece is Tchaikovsky's violin concerto in D major Op.35, and I admire Itzhak Perlman with all my heart.

 

Leah Lettieri

Other fun facts: I am a volunteer at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and before returning to Columbia for my Masters, worked in buying for a major department store.

Ranming Xu

Sungoh Yoon

Other fun facts: Thanks to my sojourn in the U.S. during my childhood and two years of military service as a KATUSA, I am a near-native speaker in English. I can also speak French and Spanish fluently. In addition, I have another bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Yonsei University, which I attended prior to pursuing a second B.A. at Seoul National University. I have finally made up my mind to study the subject that I found more academically entertaining, even at the cost of sacrificing other benefits.

Other fun facts: I turned to my grandpa right when I got this question and he started telling me stories of himself as one of those eager young men that swam in the Yangtze river with Chairman Mao back in the 50s.
