Library

Columbia's C.V. Starr East Asian Library has an important and growing collection of books about Tibet or from Tibet, in English, Tibetan, Chinese, and other languages. Most of the open access collection is kept in the Starr East Asian Library. A significant number of rare Tibetan manuscripts and texts are stored in the Rare Books section of the Butler Library, and many others are held in a secure area in Lehman Library. more details

There are at least two other major Tibet-related libraries in Manhattan, which work closely with Columbia - the Tibet Buddhist Resource Center and the Latse Library.
