S3 - Saturday Sciece Seminars
A 6-week pilot program organized by WISC in conjunction with the Double Discovery Center (DDC, http://www.columbia.edu/cu/college/ddc/) and funded by the NanoScience and Engineering Center (NSEC, http://research.radlab.columbia.edu/nsec/index.php) is taking place this fall, beginning October 8. Each Saturday morning (10am-12pm) in the Havemeyer Labs, graduate student volunteers will lead a hands-on lesson to 15 7th graders from Wadleigh Secondary School and DDC programs. NSEC faculty will give presentations, have lunch with the students, and with the graduate student volunteers help introduce them to the nano-world.
