Michael Janeway received a B.A. from Harvard. He is a professor of Journalism and Arts. Former executive editor, The Atlantic Monthly, managing editor and editor-in-chief, The Boston Globe, executive editor, trade division, Houghton Mifflin Co.; dean, Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University. Author, The Fall of the House of Roosevelt: Brokers of Ideas & Power from FDR to LBJ (Columbia University Press, 2004), Republic of Denial: Press, Politics and Public Life (Yale University Press, 1999); editor and contributor, Who We Are: An Atlantic Chronicle of the United States and Vietnam (Atlantic Monthly Press, 1969. Articles, essays and book reviews have appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, and other publications.
