Visit of Prof. Themelis of WTE facilities and laboratories in Chongqing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing

Prof. Nickolas Themelis of Columbia University was named Honorary Professor by Chongqing University of Science and Technology, October 31, 2007. A Collaboration Agreement on Sustainable Waste Management research was signed between the Earth Engineering Center (EEC) and Chongqing University. The new WTERT-China web page will be headquartered at Chongxing University and will provide information on waste-to-energy and sustainable waste management throughout China. A collaborative research agreement was also signed  by Prof. Kefa Cen of the College of Mechanical and Energy Engineering of Zhejiang University (Hangzhou) and Prof. Themelis for EEC. Prof. Cen and his group have designed over twenty Circulating Fluid Bed WTEs that are operating in China. (Link to photos from CQUST web, www.CQUST.cn).
