ABRAHAM migrated from Ur of the Chaldees into the land of Canaan and became the first patriarch of the people of Israel (Genesis 11:27-32; 12-26).

Dame Alys cites Abraham as a holy man who had more than two wives, WBP 55-58. Jovinian, in his argument against celibacy and virginity, mentions Abraham, who had two wives, as proof that marriage did not diminish virtue. Jerome answers Jovinian in Epistola adversus Jovinianum (Letter Against Jovinian) I.7 (PL 23: 219). [Sarra: Ysaac]

The name appears once, WBP 55.
