KENULPHUS. Cenwulf ruled Mercia A.D. 796-821. In 798, he endowed a monastery of monks in Winchcombe Abbey, where he was later buried beside his son Kenelm.

Kenulphus is Kenelm's father, NPT 3110-3121. [Kenelm]

Latin Kenulphus instead of OE Cenwulf seems necessary for the meter and appears in medial position, NPT 3111.
