LAMUEL. Lemuel, king of Massa, ruled a North Arabian tribe. He was one of Ishmael's sons mentioned in Genesis 25:14. The Israelites highly esteemed his people's wisdom, and the words of Lemuel's mother on the evils of wine appear in Proverbs 31.
