PHANYE. Phanie was the daughter of Croesus, King of Lydia. She interpreted his dreams about his death (RR 6489-6593).

Phanye interprets her father's dream of Jupiter and Phebus: Croesus would be hanged, the rain would wet his body and the sun dry it, MkT 2751-2758. [Cresus]

Phanye is derived from Greek pheinein, "to show," an appropriate name for a dream interpreter. It occurs once, in final rhyming position, MkT 2758.
