POLLUX is the Latin name for the Greek hero Polydeuces, twin brother of Castor, brothers of Helen. It is also the name of the beta or second brightest star in the constellation Gemini, in the head of the figure Pollux; it lies in the northern hemisphere (Tetrabiblos I.9).
