TOAS. Thoas was king of Aetolia and one of the Greeks' allies in the Trojan War (HDT VIII). The Trojans captured him and later exchanged him for Antenor from the Greeks. He does not appear in Boccaccio's Il Filocolo (1333-1339). Chaucer uses Benoît, Roman de Troie 12803-13120, in addition to Guido.

The Trojans exchange Toas and Criseyde for Antenor, Tr IV.138. [Antenor: Creseyde]

The name appears medially.
