Cutting-edge choreographers premiere new works made specifically for Barnard/Columbia dancers during a semester-long creative process. The performance includes works by Faye Driscoll, whose work goes straight for the social jugular [and is] both violent and cathartic; Francesca Harper, who explores the internal strugglesincluding personal rage, social consciousness, and the line between commercial art and true artistic expression; Heidi Henderson, whose choreography charts the point where the neatness of minimalist art meets the messiness of life; and Bill Young, in whose daring, eccentric [work]the sensuality, the tenderness, the sense of adventure seem intrinsic to the moment and anchored to life.
